Fox 10 wt existed in green and red. Both were 47 cSt @ 40°C. Motorex 7.5 wt oil is 35 cSt @ 40°C, Motorex 10 wt oil is 50 cSt @ 40°C. Many shocks and forks claimed to use Fox 10 wt red but actually used Fox 7 wt (orange 32 cSt). We have viscosity tests to prove this. Most forks and shocks perform better with 7.5 wt than 10 wt. But we have both available. Shockcraft recommended replacement for OEM Fox 10 wt oil is Motorex 7.5 wt fork oil Shockcraft equivalent oil to OEM Fox 10 wt oil (green and red) is Motorex 10 wt fork oil
Motorex 7.5 wt & 10 wt are available from Shockcraft in 250 ml or 1 L bottles Also available at a lower price in 1 & 4 litre refilled bottles
Fox 7 wt oil is orange and 32 cSt @ 40°C Fox 10 wt Red oil is red and 47 cSt @ 40°C Fox 10 wt Green oil is green and 47 cSt @ 40°C
If your fork or shock had orange oil it was 32 cSt Fox 7 wt and should not be filled with 10 wt regardless of what Fox oil charts say. If your shock has green or red 10 wt oil it will be more responsive and less temperature sensitive with a Motorex 7.5 wt oil inside. Going too thin can cause noise issues in some shocks. FIT4 dampers work fine with 15 cSt oils inside.
Motorex 7.5 wt oil is 35 cSt @40“C but also more slippery. It can be used anywhere specifying Fox 7 wt, Torco RSF Medium, Fox 10 wt Green, Fox 10 wt Red or Silkolene 10 wt. Some applications (like lower leg bath oil) will be better with a thicker and more slippery oil like Motorex Supergliss.
