Manitou Mara Pro GEN 2 Pro Inline rear shock

Inline design allows shock to shed weight while still offering support and performance for the majority of riding styles
Trail specific tune designed for maximum shock responsiveness, making it perfect for aggressive riding
This tune gives the best feel in open small bump sensitivity; increases compression across the adjuster range to a mid-firm platform that is great for pedalling up technical climbs where traction is balance with pedalling efficiency

All versions apart from XC versions are configured with a new King Can with an active positive/negative system called Balance Groove Technology
XC versions are fitted with a XC Shim Stack & Lite Can
The Lite Can also utilises the same Balance Groove Technology but with a reduction in overall volume for riders looking for a less linear feel to the shock

Ready Mix Tune - Targeted Tuning
Available with optional Shockcraft Ready Mix Tune.  The Ready Mix Tune is our Pick & Mix Self Tune with the picking, mixing and install already done for you.  With the Ready Mix Tune you will get the right combination of playfulness, poppiness and plantedness.  The shock will be stable, supportive and suck up the bumps.  You'll notice huge changes in feel, speed and confidence.  There is also a choice of Trail tune for incremental compression or XC tune with firm lockout.

Summary
    Balance Groove Technology
All new Mara GEN 2 shocks, aside from XC focused versions, are configured with a new King Can design.  This new design includes an active positive/negative system called Balance Groove Technology.  It allows positive and negative pressures to equalize, providing great small bump compliance in the early part of the shock stroke.  Such a design allows for great small bump compliance regardless of rider size.  Additionally, positive and negative air volumes can be easily adjusted by the rider at his or her home by adding or removing the included volume spacers, without the need of any proprietary tools.  This adjustment follows the same principle as the IVA system in Manitou forks and represents a high degree of versatility and autonomy in adjustment for the rider.

Lite Cans and XC Shim Stack for XC
While the King Can is aimed more at gravity and trail use, a new Lite Can has been developed for the unique needs of XC competition.  The Lite Can utilizes the same Balance Groove Technology as the King Can but with a reduction in overall volume for riders looking for a less linear feel to the shock.  The lower volume structure serves not only to lower overall weight but also provide the compression support required for the rigors of modern XC.  The XC focused air can is available on 190 mm Eyelet and 165 mm trunnion shocks.

XC versions also come with a specific XC shim stack to ensure the strongest lockout performance available.

    Other Updates
While the new air cans represent a significant performance upgrade on their own, they are paired with a new air piston that improves reliability and service life with updated seal geometry and simplified service procedures.
